Bloody Sports

I’m an Australian, I’m supposed to live and breathe sports, of every type. I took time out to watch the socceroos get done by Italy. I should be watching our guys in the Tour De France, and there is a cricket test somewhere. Not to mention thugby where we recently ‘spifflicated’ the Poms.

But I’m not all that sports crazy, preferring the shadowy, corrupt world of politics and the public sector.

That being so, do you think I can escape bloody sports? It is an odds on bet, looking for scandal and corruption news, sports will figure if not dominate the scene.

On Sunday, perusing scandal on, Google news, the first 200 items were the soccer related, followed by drugs and the Tour De France with some character called Bonds and Duke lacrosse team all managing to squeeze political and corporate scandal out.

Looking at the search engine queries for the GP Daily site brings up more of the same – sports and scandal.

News headlines – reading lips, what provoked the head butt? J'accuse? Non! Chirac hails Zidane as a national hero.

Jeez, France is up to its armpits in real corruption and that takes the prize? Italy has a perfectly good royal scandal, but what dominates?

I’m getting ready to headbutt someone now, and you won’t need to read anyones lips.

Hey, head butt whoever you like. It's open season. But none of this poncy gracious stuff! Be a frog!
