Rebirthing the Middle East?

I wonder how those behind the creation and execution of the Bush Doctrine are reacting to the fact that the situation they created in the Middle East is now totally beyond their means to control.

Unleashing previously contained Shia forces, as a result if the Iraq adventure, has spawned a far more serious threat than Al Qaida.

Indeed, al Qaida must be regretting the rising power of Hezbollah as a threat to their dominance of militant Islamism.

The powerful imagery depicted by the Hezbollah logo might well have been created by Washington. Certainly it has been US led policy which has given life to these fanatics.

Rice was right when she cautioned that a U.N. resolution will not stop all the fighting in southern Lebanon, but fell into the old trap with the rider; it is a first step towards a lasting cessation of violence.

Hezbollah are going to accept nothing less, now, than a full takeover of Lebanon. Israel's premature and overly optimistic attack has only emboldened this group in their plans. Nothing short of annihilation will stop them from wrecking havoc in the region well into the future.

Whatever the desired outcome of the Iraqi adventure, we now have guaranteed, continual conflict in the region and across the globe.

Given suggestions that, in the case of unambiguous civil war in Iraq, the US will pull out, then the whole illconcieved mess will have been for nothing. It is not just back to square one, it is back to the dark ages, not the reshaped Middle East planners had suggested.

Did you know that the I must say the range of spellings is confusing, and my Arabic is poor.
The media is a broad church with many different agenndas. But I would have expected some to hone in, if only to be smart arse.
I'm not surprised aat the literal translation.

Thanks for the comment. I'm not a 'liberal' but then we no doubt have a quite different understanding of the word.
But I do try to understand the underlying issues, or at least poke around them.

Hezbollah, Hezballah, Hizbulla.

al-Queda, al-Qaida, al Qaeda.

I think there is quite a bit of room for flexing.

Great post. You have hit quite a few key points in a short post. I wish I could do that!
