Australia, it's your money!

THE Howard Government's multimillion-dollar industrial relations advertising blitz has failed to win over the public, with a clear majority of Australians believing the workplace changes would make Australian society less fair.
Cartoon by Tanberg - Sydney Morning Herald

That lovable Australian despot, Uncle John, has just spent "somewhere in the 30s or 40s (millions of dollars)" to assure the country that he knows what is best for all.Unfortunately, despite them funding the advertising, the ungrateful citizens refuse to accept his argument.Life must be difficult for a despot in a country fully of intractable bastards. First they get uppity about a simple ‘shoot-to-kill’ law. Now they are finding fault with handing wages and conditions decisions over to their benevolent employers.According to the poll, conducted exclusively for The Age, fewer than one in five voters (19 per cent) believe the changes will make the country fairer.
The question is, how much of this negative public opinion is Uncle John willing to take before he starts smacking bottoms?
Remember, this is a man who suffered the political gulags for over 40 years, dreaming of bringing his ‘grand plan’ to fruition.
Uncle John Howard was born to be the Emperor of all Australias and the Deputy Sheriff of Asia. He suffered untold misery and hurt, in his journey to eventual vindication.
You don’t think he is just going to sit back let public opinion sour his final glory? I think not!
Uncle John had to suffer, and it is now only proper that the rest of the country should suffer. Just watch out for the $100 mill ad campaign on why low earners taxes are suddenly being raised.
